Ci Wear Helped My Son Conquer the Coaster with Confidence

Taking a family trip to an amusement park with towering roller coasters, spinning rides, and the sweet smell of funnel cakes in the air always brings excitement—but also anxiety when your child wears cochlear implants.

As a parent of a child with Advanced Bionics Marvel cochlear implants, you want them to enjoy every thrilling moment without having to remove their processors and miss out on the sounds around them.

Fast drops, loops, high speeds, strong winds, and crowded parks — all of these can shake, shift, or knock a processor loose, whether on rides or just walking around.

That’s why we prepared our son in the water configuration: using the waterproof battery, an 18” cord, and setting the mic to the headpiece. He wore his Ci Wear Sport activewear shirt to keep everything secure.

The shirt is designed with sleeve pockets and an internal band to clip and protect processors. The sound cord is threaded under the shirt and through collar loops, positioning everything neatly at the back of his head.

No bulky clips. No sticky tape. Just a clean, comfortable fit.

Cochlear Implant Processor Confidence at 60 MPH

When the coaster launched, I held my breath.

As we began the steady climb toward the steep drop, the familiar clicking of the track filled the air. From the top, I could see the drop and a double corkscrew ahead. My stomach tightened in anticipation. I turned to my son and asked, “You ready?” He smiled and gave me a thumbs up.

I knew I could handle the ride — but I wasn’t sure if his processors could. Would he hear the wind rushing by? The laughter and screams? The thrill of the moment?

After the steep drops, fast turns, and a few flips, we finally coasted to a jerky stop back at the station. My son was grinning ear to ear.

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed one of his headpieces had come loose and slipped down the front of his shirt — likely knocked off by the intensity of the ride. I’d felt my own head bouncing around in the seat!

As the safety harness released, I asked, “Did you enjoy the ride?”

He quietly said “yes,” then instinctively reached down, grabbed the headpiece, popped it back on, and said, “Let’s do it again.”

Wind, Speed, Sound — and No Worry

He rode everything that day. Steep drops, corkscrews, swings, and spinning rides.

Thanks to Ci Wear, his Marvel processors stayed secure, protected, and functional the entire time. He could hear every countdown from the ride operator. He could hear us cheering. He could shout with joy — and we could hear him.

The best part?
He wasn’t distracted.
He wasn’t constantly checking his ears.
He wasn’t worried — because Ci Wear was doing its job.

Ci Wear Changes the Game

What I love most about Ci Wear is how it blends in. It doesn’t scream “medical device.” It’s designed to move with the body, breathe in the heat, and stay snug in all the right places.

The internal sleeves keep processors secure but not restrictive — even through high-speed twists and turns.

For our son, it’s not just clothing — it’s part of the adventure. It lets him live in the moment, hearing, laughing, and yelling through every thrilling second.

Final Thoughts

If your child wears Advanced Bionics Marvel and you've ever hesitated before a big activity — a roller coaster, trampoline park, or zip line — know this: Ci Wear gives you back your peace of mind.

If your child uses Cochlear or Med-El devices, I imagine you can easily tether the processors to the collar loops and use a headband for added security.

Cochlear implant recipients shouldn’t have to choose between hearing and adventure. And parents shouldn’t have to worry if their child’s processors will survive the ride.

With Ci Wear, our son got to be bold brave and loud just the way he likes it. And I just had to worry about not getting sick to my stomach from the rides.
